Faced with climate change, a challenge: do without natural resources and offer alternatives. Alone on stage on a bicycle that produces the electricity necessary for the show, Bielinski explores the stripping, decay and decarbonation to sketch the possibilities of a world without oil.
Athleticand musical performance, manifesto, river poem, song tour, collective meditation, laboratory, symposium, place of reflection and life, Warm up is a realization of our limits, a change of perspective. The piece invites to come together and offers a reflection on the deep meaning of commitment, living together and the role of the artist.
Mykalle Bielinski investigates notions of being and the sacred through voice, performance, music, orality and the encounter with the audience. The stage, for Bielinski, is a refuge for all things new, for ritual and for freedom. Her show Gloria (2015 – Operaestate Italie, La Chapelle | Scènes contemporaines, Mois Multi, CAM en tournée, Avantage numérique Rouyn-Noranda, PushOFF Vancouver, Re:flux Moncton, OFFTA) is a multimedia vocal piece in the round, while Mythe (2019 – Espace libre, Mois Multi, OFFTA) features a vocal ensemble of five women singing about impermanence. Mykalle Bielinski is a graduate of the École Supérieure de théâtre at UQAM (performance) and a stagiaire at Odin Teatret. She also collaborates as a musician, actor or sound designer with various theatre and dance artists, including Mélanie Demers, Édith Patenaude, Véronique and Gabrielle Côté, Jocelyn Pelletier, Philippe Cyr, and projets hybris.
