Radwan Ghazi Moumneh + Alexei Perry Cox - Acoustic Sessions
This show is part of La Chapelle's acoustic sessions, an annual event, an invitation to hear today's music differently, in an intimate and refined experience, without microphone and closer to the artist.
Alexei Perry Cox - equipped solely with her voice and a dictaphone's pre-recording of poetic works will transmit her project "Balance/Unbalance" which interrogates the in/experience of justice and negotiates its complication as a common citizen.
Alexei Perry Cox is a writer, editor, critic and teacher published and anthologized internationally. Her work has appeared, in various iterations, in The Puritan, Fiddlehead, carte-blanche, CV2, Hart House Review, Vallum, Makhzin / مخزن, Matrix, Cosmonauts Avenue, Rusted Radishes, Journal Safar (جورنال سفر) The Beijinger, Lemonhound and elsewhere. Currently, she is finishing her next manuscript entitled Finding Places to Make Places and parenting two wondrous young ones named Isla and Ilham.
Radwan Ghazi Moumneh performs an entirely acoustic set, consisting of re-interpretations of Jerusalem In My Heart's electronic repertoire. The performance will center around vocal improvisations accompanied by strings and various percussion instruments.
