La Chapelle welcomes and assists school groups in their discovery of our pluridisciplinary programming: Dance, theatre, music, performance art, contemporary circus and transdisciplinary approaches are looked at from different angles, in order to facilitate dialogue and to create a rich artistic experience for students.

Talkbacks

Discussions between the artists and the audience are organised on a regular basis throughout the season and take place after selected shows. Talkbacks are a perfect opportunity to exchange with the artists and to learn more about their creative process. School groups are always welcomed! To know the upcoming dates of selected shows, please check the shows’ descriptions under Schedule.

Audience engagement activities

Upon request and depending on the availability of the artists, La Chapelle organises special engagement/educational activities, made especially to reflect the needs and interests of each group. These can include: attending rehearsal; meeting the creative, technical and/or administrative teams; visiting our offices and theater, etc.

Group fares

Groups of ten students and more benefit from a 20$/ticket special fare. If the group has over 20 participants, the person in charge of the group is free of admission.

Récréations (Recess) is a special project created for the students of au Pied-de-la-Montagne elementary school, located in our neighborhood. Récréations included several phases; in addition to a dedicated show, students form grade 1 to 6 are invited to artistic and technical workshops, created and facilitated by artists of our programming. Throughout these activities, students will become more familiar with performing arts and experience a first contact with professional contemporary creation.

This project benefits from the financial support of the CALQ, in the context of the program Projets structurants en diffusion jeune public.

La Chapelle is invested in its neighborhood life in many ways. Our engagement towards the community motivates us to create concrete and long-lasting relationships with our neighbors, including partnerships and projects. Every year, La Chapelle hosts the Printemps des voisines et des voisins, an event dedicated to cultural organisations, business owners and community groups located in our area.  This laid-back and friendly event allows us to better know each other, to share our visions, ideas, commons goals, and to build a strong feeling of belonging in the neighborhood.

We also offer a special fare for all residents of the area, applicable to all shows. For more information, please read the description of the area covered, under Tickets/Individual tickets.
